Youghal Theory Test Centre

Youghal Theory Test Centre Address

The location of the test centre for driver theory test candidates is:

Millenium Court,
P36 E864

The coastal town of Youghal is situated in southern Ireland, approximately 50km east of Cork. Youghal can be accessed via the N25, which has short onward connections to the test centre, located on the northern periphery of the town. Given the limited suitable public transport services on offer, we would encourage you to travel by car if possible. There is a medium-sized car park at the test site, so there is likely to be plenty of available spaces on arrival.

The testing venue resides in Millennium Court, Foxholes, an industrial estate just under 2.5km outside Youghal town centre. Please be aware that several candidates have reported difficulties in finding this site, so it might be worth setting off a touch earlier than originally planned. As you enter Millennium Court, please head immediately left, progress 50m and turn left again. The test centre will be located straight ahead.

There are no other realistic parking options in close proximity and very few in Youghal town centre itself. If you did consider parking locally, please be aware that there are no bus routes which directly pass the venue. Therefore, your onwards journey would entail either a lengthy walk, or the use of a local cab service.

Should you opt to travel by taxi, we’ve listed several local cab firms to explore below:

  • Youghal Cabs: 8 South Main Street, Youghal-Lands, Youghal, Co. Cork, PS36 XY23 (Contact number: +353 24 91818)
  • Worldwide Cabs & Coach Hire: South Main Street, Youghal-Lands, Youghal, Co. Cork (Contact number: +353 24 91888)
  • Blackwater Cabs & Limousine Hire: Prospect Hall, Kingsalbeg, Youghal, Co. Cork (Contact number: +353 24 9666)

There are town main external services that travel through Youghal. However, neither route has scheduled stops nearby the test site. Again, your connecting journey to Millennium Court would need to be conducted on foot or in taxi.

  • 260: The number 260 operates between Cork and Ardmore, heading in an east/west direction. If using this service, please exit the bus at North Main Street bus stop. From here, walking to the test centre will take roughly 30 minutes. Head north-west on North Main Street, and continue on as the road merges with firstly Tallow Street and then Mill Road. Head straight on at the roundabout, and emerge onto the R634. Progress north for a further 1.3km. On approaching Millennium Court, turn right into the Industrial Estate, before following the instructions given under the ‘Car’ section of this text. Clearly, the alternative to walking is to hire a taxi to complete this 2.4km journey.
  • 40: This service cuts right across southern Ireland, connecting Tralee in the west to Rosslare Harbour in the east. Again, please alight at North Main Street, and follow the guidance outlined above.

To acquire further route information on either of these services, please had to the Youghal’s ‘Moovit’ dashboard site, located here (please be aware that detail on the 260 transit line is located at the bottom of the page).

There is a local bus network within Youghal and its surrounding area, which may offer an alternative solution if residing nearby. If you do manage to identify an appropriate service, please head to either North Main Street, Bunscoil Mhuire, or Knockaverry bus stops – preferably in that order! However, please note that if looking to access the test centre from either of the latter two destinations, you’ll need to navigate a walk/taxi ride of over 3km.

Unfortunately, there is no longer an operational train station in Youghal. The closest station is Midleton, located just under 30km away. Please therefore note that any journey by train will incur substantial additional travel, and will most likely take comfortably over an hour to complete.

After arriving into Midleton Station, you’ll need to head to Brewery House bus stop, which will facilitate your onwards travel into Youghal town centre. Frustratingly, this stop is located over 1km away from the train station, so will involve either a short bus journey or an additional fifteen-minute walk. If walking, exit the station and turn left, heading southbound past Midleton Hurling and Football club. For reference, this route lies on a narrow pathway which runs parallel to the R626. Continue on this path for approximately 500m, before turning right onto The Green. After turning right, please then turn immediately left at the junction, heading onto the R907. Progress for another 700m, which will see you merge onto Main Street before arriving at the Brewery house bus stop. This site is opposite Midleton Post Office.

Please then catch the aforementioned number 40 bus, and exit at Market Street, Youghal. This journey will take around 25 minutes. As before, from here, it’s either an onwards taxi or an extended walk to the test centre.

If you would prefer to get the bus for the first leg of the journey, please follow the walking travel guidance up to landing on the R907 (please note that this still therefore involves an eight-minute walk). At this stage, progress 20m, locating the Courthouse bus stop on your left-hand side (stop is literally on the doorstep of the City Courthouse, which is a large beige-bricked building with blue doors). Please then catch the 261 Balinnacurra service to Brewery House, and head onto Youghal via the number 40 service.
