Wexford Theory Test Centre

Wexford Theory Test Centre Address

The location of the test centre for driver theory test candidates is:

Pierce Court,
Paul Quay,
Wexford,
Y35 K125

Directions

Car

Wexford is quite a remote place to access, but either the N11 or N25 will take you towards the town. The testing venue is based on the coast, at the easterly tip of the town centre, and there are plenty of parking facilities nearby. We highlight two options below.

Paul Quay Car Park

Situated next to Wexford’s tourist office, Paul Quay is extremely close to the test centre. The site is open all day, Monday-Sunday, and is priced very reasonably. To park here for the full day, you’ll only be charged €2, which makes it the cheapest car park in the area. However, please be aware that this facility only accepts cash payments, and there are no disabled spaces available.

The car park is also open to the elements, so if you prefer coverage, please consider the next option below.

The test centre is a short, two-minute walk away. Please head southbound down Paul Quay, heading past TK Maxx on your right-hand side. After about 100m, turn right onto Stonebridge Lane. The venue is located within the first building on your left.

Crescent Quay Car Park

This car park is around a two-minute northbound walk from the Paul Quay Car Park. The location will be identifiable by a large, crescent walkway positioned near its entrance. This is a partially covered site.

The facility is open between the hours of 8.00 am-6.00 pm, Monday to Sunday. Parking is marginally more expensive here, priced at €3 for full-day use. There is also the option of hourly parking for €1.20, which may work out to slightly be more cost-effective. However, given the test duration and travel time, it’s perhaps worth taking the €3 ticket, just for added peace of mind. If extending your stay in Wexford, there is an opportunity to purchase a 5-day parking coverage, at a cost of €10.

Again, unfortunately, there is no disabled parking at this site. If you require this service, please review the Stonebridge Car Park location listed below. Crescent Quay Park is also a cash-only facility.

Stonebridge Car Park

Stonebridge is the closest parking site to the test centre, and as referenced, accommodates disabled parking. The car park is open from the hours of 8.00 am-10.00 pm, and operates all week. Tickets are priced at €1.20 per hour, but only up to a €4 limit. Any parking time that would otherwise have incurred a charge is allocated for free.

To access the venue, simply head east on Stonebridge Lane, walking around 50m. The test centre will be on your right-hand side.

Bus

There are three main external bus services that support travel in and out of Wexford. These are the Whitfield Clinic, Waterford-Redmond Square, Wexford service, and the Kilmore Quay-Redmond Square, Wexford service

2: This service heads southbound from Dublin Airport to Wexford. Please leave the bus when the route terminates at Wexford O’Hanrahan Train Station. For directions to the test centre from here, please see notes under train heading.

Whitfield Clinic, Waterford-Redmond Square, Wexford service: This Waterford to Wexford service travels eastbound across the south of Ireland. If using this service, please alight at Redmond Square. The square is positioned directly opposite the train station, so, again, please follow the instructions provided in the train section.

Kilmore Quay-Redmond Square, Wexford service: This route heads northbound from the coastal village of Kilmore Quay. The most suitable place to exit this service is Paul Quay Tourist Office. Therefore, onwards travel to the test centre mirrors the description given in the Paul Quay Car Park notes.

There are also a number of local bus services that serve one of the aforementioned stops, or others close by. The Redmond Square-Redmond Square route might be the best choice to opt for, as it circles the full perimeter of Wexford.

If on an alternative service, and cannot access one of these stops, please head to either Crescent Quay, or Trinity Street. Crescent Quay stop is located just outside its namesake’s car park, so onwards guidance to the test centre from here has already been addressed. Trinity Street is around a three-minute walk from the venue. Head northbound for roughly 300m, and you’ll see Trinity Street merges with Paul Quay. Take a left just beyond ‘The John Barry Bar’, and you’ll find the test centre around 10m up on your right-hand side.

To see more bus travel options, you may want to head to the relevant Moovit page, located here.

Train

Wexford O’Hanharan Train Station welcomes arrivals from a range of locations across Ireland. The onwards journey to the test centre from the station will take approximately twelve minutes, and is just short of 1km.

Walk southbound on Redmond Place, connecting with Crescent Quay after around 400m in. From here, please follow the instructions outlined under the Crescent Quay Car Park section.
