Directions

Car

If you’re planning to travel to the test centre by car, please be aware that the N52 is the main commuter route into Tullamore. The testing venue is situated in the centre of the town, and therefore there are plenty of parking options available. We’ve highlighted a few below.

Market Square Car Park (East)

This site is located just behind Tullamore’s ‘The Mall’, the building in which the test centre resides. Parking here is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, but only chargeable between 9.30 am-6.00 pm, Monday-Saturday. Therefore, any time spent parking outside of these hours will not require a ticket.

Parking is charged at €0.50 per every half-hour but is capped at €2.50. Therefore, if looking to extend your stay in Tullamore for longer than two and a half hours, this will not bring any additional cost. However, please note that this is a cash-only site.

There are disabled spaces available at this car park, and electronic vehicle charging facilities. If this car park is full, you may want to try Market Square Car Park (West). However, please be aware that this is a two-hour maximum stay car park. As the car park is just around the corner from the test centre, this will likely leave enough time to travel to the venue and back, and of course, take your test in the interim. Nevertheless, this cannot be guaranteed. A two-hour ticket at this site is charged at just €1. The car park is also open all day, every day, but only chargeable between 9.30 am-6.00 pm, Monday-Saturday, with parking free outside of these hours.

To reach the test centre from either car park, please head southbound on Market Street, turning right at the Church Street junction. Continue for around 150m, before turning right onto Columcille Street. The shopping mall is around 20m up this road, on the right-hand side. This journey will take around three minutes to conduct.

Kilbride Street

This car park follows exactly the same pricing structure and operational hours as the Market Square East site. Payment is also cash-only. However, please be aware that this facility does not accommodate disabled parking.

The test venue is around six minutes from here. Head southbound on Kilbride Street, taking a left at the roundabout onto Patrick Street. Continue on, taking a left onto Columcille Street after about 150m. As above, the mall is roughly 20m away from this junction.

For further parking options in the local area, please visit the relevant Parkopedia page, available through this link.

Bus

There is only one main external route that heads into Tullamore, which is the 120C service. This bus originates in Enfield and travels in a westbound direction towards the town.

If using this service, please exit at the last stop, located on Tullamore’s O’Carroll Street. The Mall is around a four-minute walk away from this bus stop. At the roundabout positioned at the end of O’Carroll Street, take a right, and westward on Harbour Street. Continue for around 350m, turning left onto Columcille Street. The mall entrance is around 50m from here, situated on the left-hand side of the road.

If you’re using a local bus service within Tullamore, please head to either O’Carroll Street bus stop, Tullamore Bus Station, or Columcille Street stop. The bus station is around a three-minute walk from the test venue, heading northbound up High Street. This road eventually merges into Columcille Street. The bus stop situated on Columcille Street itself is around 200m north of the mall, opposite McCormack’s Golf Sporting Goods store.

Train

Tullamore train station welcomes travellers from Dublin, Galway and Limerick, so is reasonably well connected given its relative remoteness. The station is located around 1km away from the test centre and is therefore accessible by foot. Firstly, head east on Cormac Street, going straight ahead at the roundabout and entering High Street. Continue for around 600m. The shopping mall will be on your right-hand side around 20m after High Street merges with Columcille Street.

Alternatively, you could take the 847 Cathal Brugha Street service from the train station bus stop. This bus will take you on a ten-minute journey up to the Classy Clogs store on Patrick Street. From here, head eastbound on Patrick Street for approximately 80m, before turning left up Columcille Street. The mall is located across the road.
