Limerick Theory Test Centre

Limerick Theory Test Centre Address

The location of the test centre for driver theory test candidates is:

Glenlara House,
Mount Kenneth Place,

Limerick can be accessed via both M18 and M7 motorways. There are numerous parking options nearby, however, we feel that Aviary and Steamboat Quay are the two most favourable locations.

Aviary Multi-Storey Car Park

This site is open all day, Monday-Sunday. It has a colossal 500 spaces, so there shouldn’t be any issues with finding an available space. Charges are also reasonable, with parking priced at €2 per hour. If you’re looking to spend a little time in Limerick after your test, full-day tickets can be purchased at a cost of €7 (entry after 7.00 am, exit before 7.00 pm). There are also 24-hour tickets available if planning an overnight stay, which are priced at €13 during the week, and €11 at the weekend. However, please note that the testing venue closes at 2 pm on Saturday, and doesn’t re-open until Monday morning.

Payments can be made via both cash or card, but unfortunately, this site cannot facilitate contactless transactions. Disabled parking is available.

Please be aware that this car park is located next door to the testing venue, and is therefore the best local parking option. More information about this site can be found here.

Steamboat Quay

If there are any issues with the Aviary, a short, one-minute drive will take you to the Steamboat Quay. Standard parking prices are the same as the Aviary, but 24-hour tickets are considerably cheaper, priced at €10. The Steamboat Quay car park also facilitates overnight stays, with tickets also available at a cost of €10 (entry after 6.00 pm, exit before 09.00 am).

Opening times are as follows:

  • Monday-Friday: 07.00am-10.00pm
  • Saturday: 08.00am-10.00pm
  • Sunday: 08.00am-10.00pm

Please note that this is a cash-only site. Disabled spaces are available.

To reach the venue, please head northbound up Dock Street, before turning right onto Mount Kenneth Place. The test centre will be on your right-hand side.

There are multiple bus services operating within Limerick, and also routes arriving into the city centre from further afield. These are as follows:

55, 391, Cork Airport-Eyre Square.

55: The number 55 route runs between Wexford and Limerick. If using this service, please alight at Limerick bus station, which is located adjacently to Limerick Colbert train station. If walking to the venue, please head west along Upper Mallow Street, turn left onto Henry Street, and then turn right into Mount Kenneth Place (theory test centre is located in Glenlara House).

There is a connecting bus route available from the nearby train station bus stop (number 304A- Raheen Roundabout), which will take you up to Barrington Street. The venue is a four-minute walk from here and is accessible by heading west on Newenham Street, then turning right onto Henry Street, before turning left onto Mount Kenneth Place.

391: This service travels westbound to Limerick from Thurles. If opting for the 391 route, please exit at Arthur’s Quay, which is the last scheduled stop. To reach the test centre, head 800m in a southbound direction on Henry Street, before turning right into Mount Kenneth Place.

Cork Airport-Eyre Square: This is a northbound route. Please leave this service at Henry Street (Hibernian Insurance) bus stop, once again heading down Henry Street and onto Mount Kenneth Place.

The closest two bus stops are Coonagh Cross and Henry Street. To travel from Coonagh Cross to the venue, simply head east on Dock Road, and then turn right onto Mount Kenneth Place. This bus stop is located on the route heading from the Steamboat Quay Car Park to the test centre.
