Ennis Theory Test Centre

Ennis Theory Test Centre Address

The location of the test centre for driver theory test candidates is:

42 Cornmarket St,
Clonroad Beg,

If travelling into Ennis by car, please take the N85, and exit at the Cusack Road junction located in the west of the town. There are unfortunately limited parking options, but we’ve identified the most appropriate two below:

Market Street Car Park

This relatively inexpensive car park is open at the following times:

  • Monday-Wednesday & Saturday: 07.30 am-7.30 pm
  • Thursday & Friday: 07.30 am-8.00 pm
  • Sunday: Closed (Please note that the test centre is closed on a weekend).

Parking is charged at €1.30, but it will most likely be more cost-effective to take advantage of the site’s day ticket. These are priced at €5, and provides parking coverage for the car park’s full operating hours. Overnight parking is available between the hours of 5.00pm and 10.00am, with tickets also costing €5. Lastly, if you require an extended stay, you can acquire a €10 ticket, which allows 24-hour parking from the point of purchase.

Please be aware that you’ll be able to pay by either cash or card. However, please note that this car park does not facilitate contactless payments.

The onwards walk to the test centre is roughly five minutes. Head in a north-westerly direction, firstly travelling on Upper Market Street, then heading west and following Parnell Street to its end. The centre is located across Cornmarket Street, on the opposite side of the road.

Ennis Shopping Centre

This car park is operational between the hours of:

  • Monday-Saturday: 07.00 am-10.00 pm
  • Sunday: 09.00 am-10.00 pm.

This site only charges €1 per hour for parking. However, there is a maximum stay cap of two hours at this car park. Given the distances between here and the testing venue, please be conscious that using this parking site will leave very little margin for error in your timings. The journey to the venue is approximately twelve minutes by foot, however, there are unfortunately no nearby viable bus routes.

To access the test centre, please leave the car park turning left onto O’Connell Street, before heading left again onto Upper Market Street. From here, please follow the same instructions referenced in the Market Street Car Park section.

There are no direct bus routes that pass the test venue, but there are some available external services heading towards Ennis town centre.

The number 300 travels westwards from Dublin and terminates in Ennis. If using this service, please leave the bus at the last stop, which is Dunnes Friars Walk. To reach the testing venue, head into the heart of the town centre, towards Market Square. From here, follow the same route as outlined in the Market Street car park notes. This journey will take approximately twelve minutes.

The number 51 service connects Galway to Limerick. This route will take you to Ennis Bus Station. From the station, there is an onwards sixteen-minute walk to the test centre. This can be reached by travelling west towards the southern periphery of the town centre, before turning right onto Clare Street. Head northbound onto Cornmarket Steet, then onto Carmody Street, before eventually arriving onto Cornmarket Street. As soon as you reach Cornmarket Street, you’ll see the theory test venue on your left-hand side.

If on an alternative service, it’s worth aiming for Friars Walk. There are several stops in this vicinity, which are all within a fifteen-minute walk of the theory test centre.
